Coming From Sao Paulo

The first morning in Sao Paulo, Brazil, bought about a very welcome sight – the hostel’s free breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, ice-cold juice, and even biscuits! After the very bland food Tom and I had gotten used to eating at the monkey sanctuary where we’d just spent a week volunteering, it suddenly felt like we were being fed like Kings and Queens!

During breakfast, we began chatting to a fellow English backpacker; she’d been in Sao Paulo for a few days and was heading to Rio for the carnival that night where she was going to work as a face painter. She advised Tom and I of the main attractions in Sao Paulo and pointed them all out to us on her pocket map.
